AAI RHQ-NER officials observe 10th International Day of Yoga

On the occasion of the 10th International Day of Yoga 2024, Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials at RHQ-NER gathered at the Community Hall of RHQ-NER, near Guwahati Airport, and participated in a one-hour Yoga practice session this morning.

The event was inaugurated by Gian Batra, officiating RED-NER, who addressed the gathering with a short speech. β€œYoga is not just an art, but a way of life that provides peace of mind, body, and soul,” he said. In his address, R. Mahalingam, GM (Engineering-Electrical), RHQ-NER, emphasised that Yoga not only relieves stress but also brings about mental peace and a sense of inner strength.

The one-hour session featured a demonstration by Yoga Acharya, Prabir Roy, Retired DGM (Fire Services) from AAI. The event saw around 100 participants, including women, who participated for self and society.

AAI is entrusted with the responsibility of creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing civil aviation infrastructure both on the ground and air space in the country. AAI manages a total of 133 airports out of which 110 airports are operational.

The main functions of AAI inter-alia include construction, modification & management of passenger terminals, development & management of cargo terminals, development & maintenance of apron infrastructure including runways, parallel taxiways, apron etc.AAI provides air navigation services over 2.8 million square nautical miles of air space.
